Tacos symbolize unity and cultural heritage, often shared among families and communities. The quick pickling technique mirrors the adaptability of culinary practices, much like how communities adapt in challenging circumstances. Just as Broadway musicals bring diverse stories to life, these tacos celebrate the richness of flavors from various cultures. Instructions
- In a bowl, combine sliced beef with olive oil, cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix well and let marinate for at least 15 minutes.
- While the beef is marinating, prepare the quick pickled vegetables. Thinly slice the red onion, carrot, and cucumber.
- In a small saucepan, combine vinegar, water, sugar, and salt. Bring to a simmer and stir until sugar dissolves.
- Pour the hot vinegar mixture over the sliced vegetables in a jar. Let them pickle for about 15 minutes.
- Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the marinated beef for about 5-7 minutes until browned and cooked through.
- Warm the tortillas in a separate pan or microwave.
- To assemble, place cooked beef on each tortilla, top with pickled vegetables and fresh cilantro.
